Why Create a Unique Identity For Something?
Applying a unique identity to an individual item is beneficial in
numerous ways. It allows tracking and identification of the origin
of the item, as well as details of its manufacture, ownership,
authenticity and destination. It assists greatly in providing
quality assurance of component parts and manufacturing processes. It
reduces criminal activity by deterring counterfeiting and theft and
assists in the recovery and return of assets that have been stolen.

suppliers, including Nissan (USA and South Africa), BMW (Australia
and South Africa), Subaru
(Australia and Poland), Ford Performance Vehicles (Australia), Audi
(Australia), Porsche (Australia), Holden Special Vehicles
(Australia), Jaguar (Poland), Land Rover (Poland), Isuzu (Asia), Avis (South Africa), Mitsubishi (UK) and
VW (Taiwan). Also marine suppliers including Mercury Marine,
Seafarer Boats, Haines Hunter, Tohatsu Outboards and Freedom Boats.
And other clients such as the NSW Education Department (Australia),
Master Builders Association (Australia), the Australian Broadcasting
Corp., AFS (U.S. Military service), Smith and Warren (U.S. police
and fire badges), Bank of America and AVIS (South America).
Intellectual Property
DDT closely guards its ownership of intellectual property. The
company has applied for and been granted a standard patent and an
innovation patent in Australia over its spray techniques. These
patents allow the Company to claim rights to the technology to the
exclusion of competitors up to 2021 (the standard patent) and 2009
(the innovation patent). The innovation patent was challenged in
Australia during 2003. In the resulting litigation, the Australian
Federal Court upheld the patent. The Australian patents are derived
from an initial patent application filed in the United States of
America in November 2000. An international patent application, and
applications in a range of countries, also derive from that initial
application. In addition, DDT has proprietary ownership in various
machines used in its manufacturing process due to the custom design
and internal assembly of these machines.
